For some reason not only is Romney not admitting his smaller form of Obamacare failed but he is defending it, and even proud of it. For anyone who thinks we need to get rid of Obamacare, or at least reduce its scope, he is not the candidate we want. I hope and am fairly sure that because of this he will not get tea party backing.
"Romney blames poor implementation by his Democratic successors for some of the law’s failures. Apparently, it was all their fault that a law that set up a system of generous middle class insurance subsidies, enabled easy system gaming, and expanded Medicaid rolls ran dramatically over budget—and, according to the state officials, put patients and businesses across the state at risk of bankruptcy.
Of course, Romney also wants everyone to know he thinks the federal overhaul that was modeled on the plan he signed into law is a really, really bad idea—despite the fact that the White House has been happy to highlight the similarities between the two plans."
It is starting to look like Romney might be the flip flopper of this upcoming presidential campaign.
The result of RomneyCare on Massachusetts since enactment in 2006:
1. Their health insurance is 40% more expensive than in the rest of the country.
2. More than 1/3 are still uninsured and legislators expect a $2-$4 billion shortfall over the next decade.
3. More than 20% of the already insured were told their plans weren't "good enough", and were forced to buy more.
4. Emergency Room usage has increased by 17%.
5. Wait times to get appointments in Boston range from 21 days for cardiologists, primary care, 36 days, and 70 days for Ob-Gyn.
